Gold standard advocate Lehrman to introduce book at Cato Institute event

Section: Daily Dispatches

4:34p ET Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

While GATA is not an advocate of a gold standard -- we want government out of gold entirely, leaving to the markets its valuation and function as currency -- it's getting easier to appreciate a gold standard's potential for putting some limits on the leviathan that government has become. So anyone hoping for a return to limited government might be interested in the talk to be given by the gold standard advocate, historian, and philanthropist Lewis E. Lehrman at the Cato Institute in Washington on Thursday, July 18.

Lehrman will introduce his new book, "Money, Gold, and History," and discuss related issues with the Cato Institute's Mark Calabria.

The public's attendance is welcome with advance registration, and the Cato Institute plans to broadcast the event live on the Internet. Further information is posted at the Cato Institute's Internet site here:
