Koos Jansen: Estimated Chinese gold reserves surpass 20,000 tonnes

Gold researcher Koos Jansen today explains his estimate of China's gold reserves -- 4,000 tonnes with the central bank and 16,000 with the country's population. Jansen adds that the central bank does not purchase gold through the Shanghai Gold Exchange but through Chinese banks, whose purchases don't show up in international gold trade figures, as the central bank aims not to excite the market with its purchases.
