Texas launches 2026 gold and silver commemorative coins for sale

AUSTIN, Texas -- The state of Texas has announced the launch of its 2026 commemorative coins this week, in gold and silver, also known as "Lone Stars."

The coins are intended to introduce more people to the Texas Bullion Depository and its services, the Texas comptroller's office says.

The 2026 silver coin costs just less than $70, while the gold coins are considerably more expensive. A half-ounce gold coin is currently priced at $2,170.86, while a 1-ounce coin will run you $4,141.71. ...
