Two more lunches for GATA sympathizers in Oz and environs

Section: Daily Dispatches

9:14p ET Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

GATA sympathizers in Australia and denizens of the southern hemisphere nearby, from Polynesia to Bouvet Island, are cordially invited to a couple of lunches next month in Sydney and Canberra.

The details:

Sydney: noon, Thursday, April 12, at the Tattersalls Club, 181 Elizabeth St, Sydney City.

Canberra: noon, Monday, April 16, in the back room of the La Scala restaurant, Centre Cinema Building, Bunda Street, Civic.

A "GATA" sign will be prominently posted at both venues to help speed the arrival of those who may have started toasting GATA Chairman Bill Murphy a little too early.

The organizer is David Evans and it will be very helpful if those planning to attend give him a little notice by e-mail at david.evans@sciencespeak.com.

Evans reports that the GATA lunches already held in Perth and Melbourne have been successful and that a third lunch will be held in Perth on Friday, March 23. (E-mail Evans for details.)

The Australian lunches are informal, get-acquainted affairs with no special agenda, but GATA world headquarters encourages any spontaneous attempts to declare Oz a republic or buy out all central bank gold remaining on offer.

We have many wonderful friends in Australia and recognize that the great miracle and happiness of our organization is its universality, just as its great sadness is that we can't be with and haven't even met so many of our friends.

Maybe when the struggle is won there will be occasion for a victory tour. Until then our friends in Australia may have to settle for our warmest fraternal greetings via the Internet, and we may have to settle for our own babes and beer.

CHRIS POWELL, Secretary/Treasurer
Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee Inc.
