Julian Phillips of Gold Forecaster explains in his new essay, "Manipulation/Management: Controlling the Gold Price," how central banks, bullion banks, and major mining companies worked together for many years to suppress the price of gold while keeping the major mining companies profitable. Phillips adds that markets always will overcome a manipulation, and maybe he's right, but it's a question of time rather than mere confidence, and some of us had hoped to live long enough to see the end of this particular manipulation.
