Reg Howe: Gold, the Supremes, and UFOs

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

The presentation to GATA's Washington conference of gold price-fixing case plaintiff Reginald H. Howe examined the connection between gold and interest rates and concluded with a proposal for a constitutional amendment that, while authorizing a national bank like the Federal Reserve, would also guarantee the right of citizens to use gold and silver as their own money.

This may not satisfy advocates of returning to a gold standard but at least your secretary/treasurer concurs with it in the belief that, since central banks are so terrified of the idea, free-trading gold and silver well might be enough to discipline them.
