'Hitler gets a margin call,' but what a difference a week makes

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

A week ago -- September 15 -- the four-minute video "Hitler Gets a Margin Call" was posted at YouTube. As several other parodies have done, "Hitler Gets a Margin Call" takes a scene from the 2004 German movie "Der Untergang" ("Downfall"), which depicts the last days of the German dictator in his bunker in Berlin, and affixes bogus English subtitles, in this case making fun of gold and silver advocates generally and GATA in particular. It's pretty funny but its posting seems to have marked almost to the hour the bottom of the gold and silver markets. In just a week the parody is $150 under water in gold and $2.50 under water in silver. While we're still laughing about it tonight, we may be laughing a little more heartily than its producer is. And as funny as it is, tonight it probably couldn't get even a chuckle among the comedians at the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve. You can find it here:
