Simon Constable shows what the country is up against

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):

To see what precious metals investors and miners and indeed the whole United States are up against, watch Simon Constable of Dow Jones Newswires interview "metals market expert" John Carter to conclude that "silver market conspiracies are bunk." Carter tells Constable that there is nothing special about the short position in silver on the New York Commodities Exchange, that it is all just advance selling by silver miners. Funny that Constable has yet to interview anyone who could explain how the short position in silver is a bit more than wacko conspiracy theory, anyone who might point out that more silver has been sold short than annual production, that the short position has wound up almost entirely in the hands of one investment bank, and that the silver market regulator, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, doesn't have any explanation yet either but it looking into the matter again.

Well, maybe Constable will try to address these points in his next interview -- maybe with gold market expert Donald Duck.
