Gene Arensberg's letter to the CFTC

12:10a ET Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):

Gene Arensberg, author of the "Got Gold Report" in Brien Lundin's Gold Newsletter (, has joined those urging the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission not to be more restrictive with commodity longs than with commodity shorts. The CFTC, Arensberg says, should not impede groups of investors seeking to protect themselves against currency debasement by purchasing commodities. Arensberg's letter includes some excellent charts. GoldSeek's companion site, SilverSeek, has posted it under the headline "Gene Arensberg's Letter to the CFTC" and you can find it here:

Like the statements of Ted Butler and Adrian Douglas, Arensberg's statement also should be cited in the comments made to the CFTC by GATA supporters.

Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee Inc.
