And the fall dinner meeting of the Committee for Monetary Research and Education will be held in New York on Thursday, October 15, and will feature some speakers of special interest to GATA supporters, including:

-- Edwin Vieira Jr., author of "Pieces of Eight: The Monetary Powers and Disabilities of the U.S. Constitution," a lawyer, Harvard University graduate, and consultant to GATA.

-- David Tice, founder of the Prudent Bear Fund, now chief strategist for Bear Markets at Federated Research.

-- John Williams, publisher of the Shadow Government Statistics newsletter.

-- Barry Ritholtz, author of "Bailout Nation: How Greed and Easy Money Corrupted Wall Street and Shook the World Economy" and CEO of FusionIQ Investment Partners in New York.

-- Bob Hoye of Institutional Advisors in Vancouver, whose market commentaries are published frequently at gold-oriented Internet sites.

The CMRE meeting will be held at the University Club, 1 West 54th St., New York, not too far from Grand Central Station and a block from the subway station at Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street. Cocktails will be served at 4:30 p.m. with the speakers beginning at 5 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., and the final speakers beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be $175 for CMRE members and spouses and $195 for others. Checks for reservations should be made payable to CMRE and sent to:
