Sports heroes will help roast GATA's Murphy in Phoenix

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):

The Phoenix Investment Conference and Silver Summit, to be held Thursday and Friday, February 4 and 5, may be more than your chance to pick up precious metals-oriented investment advice and have fun roasting GATA Chairman Bill Murphy. The conference also may be your chance to meet two legends from football and boxing, former New York Jets defensive lineman Joe Klecko and former champion boxer Gerry Cooney.

Klecko and Cooney are friends of Agoracom.com's chief market commentator, Peter Grandich, who will be master of ceremonies for the Murphy roast, and Grandich is planning to bring them. Murphy, of course, is the not quite as famous former wide receiver for the New England Patriots:

So maybe someone will bring a football to the dinner and we can see whether Murphy still has moves enough to get around Klecko. If Murphy doesn't, maybe Cooney will beat the stuffing out of him, if the roasters haven't already done so.

Besides Murphy and Grandich, the Phoenix conference's speakers will include many GATA favorites, including Market Force Analysis letter editor Adrian Douglas, a member of GATA's Board of Directors; David Morgan of Silver-Investor.com; Frank Holmes of U.S. Global Investors; Jason Hommel of Silver Stock Report; Al Korelin of the Korelin Economics Report; Jay Taylor of J. Taylor's Gold & Technology Stocks letter; Peter Spina of GoldSeek.com; and silver market analyst Ted Butler of Butler Research.

The Phoenix conference will be held at the beautiful Renaissance Glendale Hotel and Spa just a few miles northwest of downtown Phoenix, a quick cab ride from Sky Harbor International Airport. Admission is $40 but will be reduced to $20 if you register in advance over the Internet and use the promotion code "GATA." The Murphy roast dinner will be held Thursday evening, February 4, with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets to the Murphy roast are $79.

You can register for the conference, buy tickets to the Murphy roast, and learn all about the Phoenix conference at the Cambridge Conferences Internet site here:

Phoenix is a lovely refuge from the northern winter, so we hope to see many friends there and, on Thursday night at least, make Murphy regret the day he was born almost as much as the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department, JPMorganChase, and Goldman Sachs already do.
