Dear Friend of GATA and Gold (and Silver):

GATA will be participating in three financial conferences this fall.

First is Cambridge House's Toronto Resource Investment conference, to be held Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. In addition to GATA Chairman Bill Murphy and your secretary/treasurer, the speakers will include GATA favorites Peter Grandich of the Grandich Letter, David Morgan of Silver-Investor.com, Al Korelin of the Korelin Economics Report, Mau Capital's John Lee, and Kitco senior market analyst Jon Nadler. Dozens of resource companies will be exhibiting. The conference has arranged special rates for attendees at two hotels adjacent to the convention center, the Intercontinental Toronto Center hotel and the Fairmont Royal York. You can learn all about the conference and register for it here:

Then on Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22, comes the eighth annual Silver Summit, which has just become part of the Cambridge House operation. It will be held at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. Among the speakers will be GATA Chairman Bill Murphy and GATA favorites John Embry of Sprott Asset Management, Morgan, Korelin, and CPM Group executive Jeff Christian. The hotel has a special rate for conference attendees. You can learn more about the conference and register for it here:

And then from Wednesday-Saturday, October 27-30, comes the New Orleans Investment Conference, the granddaddy of hard-asset investment conferences, to be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel. Besides GATA Chairman Murphy and your secretary/treasurer, speakers will include former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, newspaper columnist Charles Krauthammer, former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker, and many GATA favorites: Eric Sprott of Sprott Asset Management, Got Gold Report's Gene Arensberg, Ticker Trax letter writer Thom Calandra, Doug Casey of Casey Research, Frank Holmes of U.S. Global Investors, Gold Newsletter editor Brien Lundin, and Dennis Gartman of the Gartman Letter. Dozens of resource companies will be exhibiting, as will, of course, all of New Orleans, whose sights, sounds, and restaurants make the New Orleans Investment Conference a spectacular vacation as well as a learning experience. Because of its length and depth, there's a significant registration fee for the New Orleans conference, but there is a discount for registering early and the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel has a discount for conference attendees. You can learn about the conference and register for it here:

Sona Resources Expects Positive Cash Flow from Blackdome,
Plans Aggressive Exploration of Elizabeth Gold Property

On May 18, 2010, Sona Resources Corp. (TSXV: SYS, Frankfurt: QS7) announced the release of a preliminary economic assessment for gold production at its flagship Blackdome and Elizabeth properties in British Columbia.

Sona Executive Chairman Nick Ferris says: "We view this as a baseline scenario for gold production. The project is highly sensitive to the price of gold. A conservative valuation of gold at $1,093 per ounce would result in a pre-tax cash flow of $54 million. The assessment indicates that underground mining at the two sites would recover 183,600 ounces of gold and 62,500 ounces of silver. Permitting and infrastructure are already in place for processing ore at the Blackdome mill, with a 200-tonne per day throughput over an eight-year mine life. Our near-term goal is to continue aggressive exploration at Elizabeth and develop a million-plus-ounce gold resource, commencing production in 2013."
