Bron Suchecki: Bundesbank's gold bar list would fail an audit

Perth Mint research director Bron Suchecki agrees today that the German Bundesbank's gold bar list, published this week, is completely inadequate and would never be sufficient for audit purposes.

Further, Suchecki notes that gold researcher and GATA consultant Ronan Manly this week queried the Bundesbank about why it had not published a bar list with complete details and received a reply from the Bundesbank confirming that it has complete details but considers them "not relevant for storage or accounting purposes."

Of course those details might be relevant for determining whether central banks are double-counting gold bars and whether central bank gold has been leased and made its way into multiple claims of ownership -- which would explain the Bundesbank's refusal to release the details.
