The TF Metals Report's Craig Hemke, writing tonight at Sprott Money, lends credence to the contention of one of his subscribers that bullion banks just used a new mechanism of futures market manipulation to halt and then reverse the recent rally in the gold price.

In doing so, Hemke's subscriber maintains, the banks almost surely violated position limits, and so he urges gold investors to complain about it to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission. While the commission is generally useless, complaints might at least let the banks and the commission know that people are on to them.
