Silver Stock Report's Jason Hommel asks "Why Don't the Miners Do Something?" about the suppression of metals prices on the commodities exchange, and then answers his question The suppression is a government scheme, Hommel notes, and mining companies are the hostages of the government for obtaining mining permits and complying with environmental regulations. Hommel might have added that the miners are also hostages to their bankers, who are firmly allied with government in ensuring that the vast inflation of recent decades is channelled into financial instruments rather than real goods, ensuring that the inflation enriches financiers rather than producers.
