A report on the Denver gold show
9:30p EDT Wednesday, October 25, 2000
Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
The essay by Jim Sinclair at www.moneywebusa.com,
which I sent to you yesterday, has caused some
controversy because of its approval of the central
banks' recent handling of gold.
While Sinclair's approval of the central banks is
contrary to GATA's views, I thought that his essay
on the whole was important and interesting, a major
commentary by an expert in the field, and that GATA
and its friends could agree at least with his
criticism of excessive hedging by gold mining
GATA has some very pronounced views but we like to
test them against the views of others and to be kept
as informed as we can be. As a result we may dispatch
to you from time to time some things we don't fully
agree with or even disagree completely with. But we
hope you'll still find them interesting and useful.
Thanks for your understanding.
