Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
Canada's Financial Post, the business section
of the National Post, devoted most of a page
today to a long article about GATA. It appeared
with a big photograph of GATA Chairman Bill
Murphy and Alain Despert's painting symbolizing
our cause. The article was a result of GATA's
February 12 press conference in Washington,
which the Post's reporter attended.

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
Our hero, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, had an
interesting exchange with Federal Reserve
Chairman Alan Greenspan today before the House
Financial Services Committee, wherein the most
terrifying four-letter word in Washington was
heard: G-O-L-D.
Paul cited a speech Greenspan gave in January
to the American Numismatic Society in which

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
The famous (and, we hope, by the time we're
through, infamous) academic essay co-written
by Lawrence Summers, quot;Gibson's Paradox and
the Gold Standard, quot; published in the June 1988
issue of The Journal of Political Economy,

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:
U.S. Rep. Ron Paul put a statement into the
Congressional Record last Thursday to introduce
his Monetary Freedom and Accountability Act,
requiring the president and treasury secretary
to get Congress' approval before intervening in
the gold market. That statement made
substantial reference to GATA's work and

Gold has broken out and there is no shortage of
theories as to why and where it's going from here.
But, according to Chad Williams, investors should
pay no attention to outlooks based on supply and
demand, hedging, central bank sales or even flight
to safety issues.
In particular, the TD Newcrest analyst says it isn't
