Murphy's 'Midas' commentary posted in the clear at GoldSeek

Dear Friend of GATA and Gold:

GATA Chairman Bill Murphy's nightly commentary at the LeMetropoleCafe.com subscription site has been posted in the clear at GoldSeek and seems especially notable for two pieces of informed speculation:

1) That gold is being hit hard by the cartel of central banks and bullion banks so that the price rises from a lower base when U.S. and European interest rate cuts are announced. It wouldn't do for gold to go down $25 on a half-point cut, when the whole world will be watching. Then too many people might notice it and start wondering. Better to hit gold in advance.

2) That the recent one-day spike in the silver holdings claimed by the silver exchange-traded fund may have been necessary to clean up the EFT's books for inspection by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission before the silver was rolled along to plug a hole in another cartel dike.
