Craig Hemke at Sprott Money: The people have the power

Craig Hemke of the TF Metals Report, writing tonight at Sprott Money, reiterates that the only way of putting the fractional-reserve, derivatives-based bullion banking system to the test is for ordinary investors to eschew the system's paper products and take delivery of real metal, thereby vaporizing the imaginary supply.

This week we are mourning the loss of Peter Hug, Kitco's global trading director, who passed away Monday from cancer.

When I give presentations to “newbie” gold investors, I lead off with a simple question:

What is an ounce of gold worth today?

The answer: An ounce of gold.

I follow that up by noting that the dollar, on the other hand, is currently worth about 1/1,750th of an ounce of gold.
